Our God and Savior

God: Who foretold this long ago? Who announced it from ancient times? Was it not I, the LORD?  There is no other God but Me, a righteous God and Savior; there is none but Me.  (Isa. 45:21)

Jesus: as we await the blessed hope and glorious appearance of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.  (Titus 2:13)

God: This is good and pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all.  (1 Tim. 2:3-6)

Jesus: Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who through the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ have received a faith as precious as ours:  (2 Pet. 1:1)

God: in the hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised before time began. In the proclamation entrusted to me by the command of God our Savior.  (Titus 1:2-3)

Jesus: to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority through Jesus Christ our Lord before all time, and now, and for all eternity. (Jude 1:25)

God: not stealing from them, but showing all good faith, so that in every respect they will adorn the teaching about God our Savior.   (Titus 2:10)

“God and Savior” is one of the clearest declarations of both the divinity and saving work of Jesus Christ. Throughout Scripture, God alone is called Savior, yet the New Testament applies this same title directly to Jesus, revealing Him as the visible manifestation of God’s redeeming love.

As both God and Savior, Jesus possesses the authority to forgive sins, conquer death, and grant eternal life to all who believe in Him. This powerful title is a reminder that believers in the Savior who rescues them is none other than the eternal God worthy of all worship and praise.
