Immanuel
Foretold in the Book of (Isaiah 7:14), and fulfilled in (Matthew 1:23), Immanuel (God With Us). This name declares that God Himself came to dwell among His people through Jesus Christ.
God: Therefore, the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son and will call Him Immanuel. (Isa 7:14)
In (Matt. 1:22-26) the angel of the Lord explains to Joseph that Mary's virgin birth fulfills what the Lord had spoken through the prophet Isaiah.
Jesus: All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: Behold the virgin will be with child and she will give birth to a son, and they will call Him Immanuel” (which means, “God with us”). When Joseph woke up, he did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him, and embraced Mary as his wife. But he had no union with her until she gave birth to a Son. And he gave Him the name Jesus. (Matt. 1:22-25)
This title declares that God did not remain distant from humanity. In Christ, we see the visible expression of God’s presence among mankind, bringing hope, peace, and redemption to the world.
