Every Knee Shall Bow
The honor due to the Lord is also given to Jesus Christ. The Bible declares that a day is coming when every person will acknowledge the supreme authority of the Lord. What the Old Testament proclaims concerning God, the New Testament applies directly to Jesus Christ. These passages reveal that every knee will bow and every tongue will confess His lordship, testifying to His divine authority and eternal glory.
God; Turn to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other. By Myself I have sworn; truth has gone out from My mouth, a word that will not be revoked: Every knee will bow before Me, every tongue will swear allegiance. (Isa. 45:22-23)
Jesus: Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name above all names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Phil. 2:9-11)
The worship foretold in Scripture belongs to the Lord alone, yet it is rendered to Jesus Christ. Every knee will bow before Him, and every tongue will confess that He is Lord. Scripture confirms that Jesus shares the honor, authority and glory that belongs to God alone.
