Deliverer
God: The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer. My God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. (Psa. 18:2)
Jesus: "The Deliverer will come from Zion; He will remove godlessness from Jacob. And this is My covenant with them when I take away their sins." (Rom. 11:26-27)
God: But I am poor and needy; may the Lord think of me. You are my helper and deliverer; O my God, do not delay. (Psa. 40:17)
Jesus: Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen. (Gal. 1:3-5)
God: Therefore, I decree that the people of any nation or language who say anything offensive against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego will be cut into pieces and their houses reduced to rubble. For there is no other god who can deliver in this way." (Dan. 3:29)
Jesus: to await His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead—Jesus our deliverer from the coming wrath. (1 Thess. 1:10)
Throughout scripture, God is the great deliverer who rescues His people from bondage, danger, oppression, and sin. He is not distant from human suffering, but actively intervenes to save, protect, and redeem those who call upon Him.
The New Testament reveals this deliverance fully through Jesus Christ. He came not only to heal and restore, but to deliver humanity from the power of sin and death. Through His sacrifice and resurrection, Jesus became the eternal Deliverer, bringing salvation, and reconciliation with God. The title “Deliverer” testifies to both the saving power of God and the redemptive mission fulfilled in Christ.
