Co-Creator

This section explores creation. In the beginning God created heaven and the earth. Who was with God in the beginning? The bible identifies who was co-creating with Him.

God: In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. (Gen. 1:1)

Jesus: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through Him all things were made, and without Him nothing was made that has been made. (John 1:1-3)

God: You alone are the LORD. You created the highest heavens with all their host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You give life to all things; the host of heaven worships You. (Neh. 9:6)

Jesus: He was in the world, and though the world was made through Him, the world did not recognize Him. His own did not receive Him. The Word became flesh and dwelt among us. (John 1:10,14)

God: The LORD answered Job: “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? (Job 38:4) My God, do not take me in the midst of my days! Your years go on through all generations. In the beginning You laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands. (Psa. 102:24-25)

Jesus: But about the Son He says: “Your throne, O God, endures forever and ever,.. therefore God, Your God has anointed You. And: “In the beginning, O Lord, You laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands.” (Heb. 1:8-10) God is calling the Son ‘God’, and further states He, the Son, laid the foundations of the earth and the heavens also are works of the Son…..

God: The mystery, for ages past was kept hidden in God, who created all things. (Eph. 3:9) Worthy are You, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for You created all things; by Your will they exist and were created.” (Rev. 4:11)

Jesus: yet to us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we exist. And there is but one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we exist. (1 Cor. 8:6)

God: Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer who formed you from the womb. “I am the LORD, who made all things, who alone stretched out the heavens, who by Myself spread out the earth. (Isa. 44:24)

Jesus: The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn (first ranked) over all creation. For in Him all things were created, things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones of dominions or rulers or authorities. All things were created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. (Col. 1:15-17)

God: By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible. (Heb. 11:3)

Jesus: But in these last days He has spoken to us by His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, and through whom He made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His nature, upholding all things by His powerful word. (Heb. 1:1-3)

These scriptures reveal that God creates through the Son, proof that they are co-eternal. Jesus cannot be a created being if all things are created through Him.
